KU is a national leader in community-engaged research and public service. The Office of Community Impact supports initiatives aligned with: 

  • Carnegie Community Engagement Classification – Strengthening KU’s role as a hub for community-driven scholarship. 

  • KU’s Strategic Plan: Jayhawks Rising – Advancing interdisciplinary innovation, student success, and public engagement. 

  • Support existing campus engagement efforts – We work across our campuses, Lawrence, Edwards, KUMC and Wichita 

  • Support the Kansas Informal Learning Network(KILN) and the KU Community Engagement Consortium
