KU Community Impact Summit


Initiative Purpose:

Host a biennial convening of community and academic partners to celebrate, assess, and innovate community impact and engagement at KU. The goal of the CELS Summit is to engage, connect, and support faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners who have interest in: 

  • Addressing community-identified issues through service-learning, community-engaged scholarship, or civic engagement
  • Examining the commitment of the public university in contributing to addressing societal issues through campus and community partnerships

Initiative Goals:

  • Showcase community-engaged scholarship and public-impact initiatives that features KU and community collaborations through brief presentation formats, including roundtables and poster and Ignite-style presentations.
  • Facilitate ideas and dialogue through a provocative keynote address co-hosted with the KU Libraries, the Commons, and the Office of Community Impact.
  • Promote multi-sector community-engaged partnerships supported through KU and community collaborations and initiatives.
  • Provide access to community engagement professional development for campus and community stakeholders.
