The Office of Community Impact (OCI) connects KU’s research, teaching, and service with communities across Kansas and beyond, ensuring that our work leads to real-world solutions. Through sustainable partnerships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and inclusive innovation, we support KU’s mission to create meaningful change.
How we engage:
- Foster campus collaboration: Engage with student, staff and faculty across research and creative communities who may serve as KU Community Impact Champions by sharing promoting, guiding, and contributing to scaling community impact.
- Promote campus synergy: Facilitate the KU Community Engagement Consortium and the KU Informal Learning Network (KILN) as advisory groups to infuse co-learning and creative support for academic-community partnerships in Kansas and beyond.
- Recognize KU Community Impact Hubs: These hubs serve as community and campus convening spaces fostering academic and creative innovation. In partnership with the KU Libraries, a central campus "impact hub" will be located at KU Watson Library, with additional satellite community hubs located in collaborative spaces across campuses and Kansas communities.
OCI Coffee & Conversations
The Office of Community Impact (OCI) invites campus and community partners to join us for coffee and conversation. These informal meetups are a great way to learn more about OCI’s work and explore opportunities to build and strengthen partnerships that advance community engagement goals at KU.
If you're interested in connecting with someone from OCI over coffee, please email us at communityimpact@ku.edu.
