KU Community Engagement Networks + Coalitions for Community Engagement
Across KU, a range of groups and networks work in partnership with community representatives to support academic-community collaboration. These affinity networks and coalitions are convened by KU units and often include multiple campuses and community partners. The affinity networks and groups come together around shared interests to coordinate efforts, communicate, and advance community engagement goals as campus and/or community partners.
Affinity networks and regional groups enhance awareness and foster connections across individuals and groups that advance community engagement through academic-community partnerships. In the context of community engagement, affinity groups bring together campus and community stakeholders who share a common interest in addressing a specific community-related issue or working in a particular geographical place. These groups help foster collaboration and advance engagement efforts through shared focus, relationships, and coordinated action.
The Office of Community Impact is highlighting some of the affinity networks and groups that convene across KU with both campus and/or community collaborators. If you are part of a community engagement group or affinity network not listed, please contact the Office of Community Impact to share information that can be included to promote awareness and foster connections.
